I built this system using several pieces of Open Source Software, some open source PHP code, and some code of my own (PHP naturally). It works very good and it has some room for expansion.
On 6-12-2010 the Unrealircd folks posted a notice to the Unreal-users list stating their source had been replaced with a trojaned version back in Nov 2009. Read on for their full disclosure.
I just had a short bout with a virus I picked up while browsing this morning. The virus executable was asam.exe you can see the details of this bug here. I use AVAST anit-virus and one of the things I learned today is a trick these viruses can play on it.
